A Note from David Lintner

I'm writing this note to you, because this year's Joshua Tree retreat lodavidoks like you won't want to miss it. Anita and I made a special trip to the desert to check out our retreat house and grounds once again, and to see the location where your sweat lodge ceremony will be conducted.

I was skeptical until we visited the place and met with the wonderful woman who will lead you through this very spiritual experience, and now I can say it looks like a real winner! People from all over the country come to this facility for healing and regeneration. There's even a special arena on the property where Native Americans gather every year to dance. Finally, Anita and I foundt a very special place in Joshua Tree National Park for the Sunday walk if you want to go with us.

I recently watched an online lecture by one of the leading Doctors in the positive psychology movement. He tells us there are three keys to life satisfaction (what we normally call happiness). The first is pleasure--the ability to extend one's sense of relaxation, among other things. The second, is engagement--being in the flow. The third is meaning, being involved with something that is greater than oneself.

All three of these things are a part of this desert retreat, because your well-being is so important to the rest of your life. You deserve to remove yourself from the demands of the daily world, and be with like-minded people you can share with, and enjoy a time of relaxation, fun, and engagement with the higher part of you that can nourish and refresh you.
